Matilda & Pip

Long before arriving here, Matilda and her baby Pip lived in the corner of a farmhouse attic. Matilda spent her days rocking and reading old stories aloud, her soft voice weaving warmth into the rafters. Pip, wrapped snug in a blanket, dreamed to the rhythm of his mother’s chair. The attic was safe, but lonely. Books piled high, dust gathered thick, and the only visitors were curious sparrows peeking through cracks in the roof. Matilda read to Pip anyway—fairy tales, legends, and lullabies remembered from long ago. She told him, “Someday we’ll find a place where stories are shared, not just stored.” That “someday” came when they were discovered and gently brought here. They’re still together, still rocking, still reading—but now they’re waiting. Waiting for a forever home where Pip can grow, and Matilda can keep her promise that their story will never be lonely again.
