Adoption Spotlight
Jinglefred arrived in his red hat and sparkly scarf, jingling faintly as he waddled out of the box. Adopted by Sam and Mira, who adore decking the halls every winter, he immediately climbed into the cookie jar (for “inspection purposes”) and declared himself the official Keeper of Festivities. At first, the couple thought he was just a decoration. But when they woke to find their stockings rearranged by color gradient and a candy cane mysteriously planted in the poinsettia, they realized Jinglefred was very much on duty. During their annual holiday party, guests couldn’t stop pointing at the tiny gnome perched on the mantle, smugly guarding the gingerbread. Sam swears Jinglefred winked when the last guest left, as if to say, “Don’t worry. I’ve got the spirit covered.” Now, each year when the decorations come down, Jinglefred sulks briefly, then tucks himself away in a shoebox bed until next December. But the moment the first wreath appears, he’s back—louder, jollier, and even more committed to his role.
